Many of our Fusion Application (FA) customers are now aware that they can leverage the OCI IAM identity domain which comes with every FA instance for Fusion Application extension and integration use cases including provisioning a VB instance. FA UI extensions built and deployed as VB applications in that VB instance can easily be embedded as HTML iframe into FA.

But sometimes internal customer security and compliance review processes prevent a quick adoption of the FA identity domain and the VB instance for FA UI extensions needs to stay in a different OCI tenancy at least for some while. This not only needs additional user sync, SSO and OAuth setup, FA UI extensions also need all relevant FA users in the associated OCI IAM identity domain of that tenancy which might be a number of users beyond the limits of a “Free” identity domain type.

But rest assured, if you provision a VB instance in any “Free” identity domain it gets automatically updated to an “Oracle Apps” domain type which should cover most of your FA extension use cases.

Hope this helps!
